In May 2003, nine members of Elite Martial Arts made the Canadian National Karate Team and competed at the World Karate Championships in Killarney, Ireland 13-20 Oct 2003.
To make the Canadian Team, martial artist from all over Canada must first qualify at the provincial level in order to be invited to compete at the National Karate Championships in Ottawa where only the top three martial artists from each division make the Canadian Team. These athletes are then invited to compete at the World Championships as members of the Canadian Karate Team.
The results from the Nationals are as follows:

Results from the World Championships are impressive and Elite Team Canada brought home five of the 109 medals and contributed greatly towards Canada being #1 in the world in the medal count again:
